Job Overview
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a main principal contractor who specialise in cladding, facades, energy efficiency, building fabric, and fire safety projects within the commercial sector of construction. They now require a freelance Quality Assurance Manager to join the business for 8 months on a major cladding and fire upgrade project based in the heart of Southampton town. The day rate is negotiable DOE between £350 - £450 per day, working 5 days a week. Given the scale of the project, they are seeking a very competent and highly organised individual who can provide portfolio of similar works. This will be to start from September 2026.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance protocols aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough analysis of production processes to identify areas for improvement, ensuring consistency and safety.
- Perform regular audits and inspections to verify adherence to quality standards, including HACCP guidelines where applicable.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues promptly and effectively, facilitating root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of quality metrics, inspection reports, audit findings, and compliance records.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on quality assurance procedures, emphasizing best practices and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in quality assurance management
- Strong understanding of HACCP principles and implementation strategies.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and recommend actionable improvements.
- Exceptional attention to detail combined with effective communication skills for reporting findings clearly.
- Ability to work independently as a freelancer while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
- Relevant certifications in quality management or industry-specific standards are preferred but not mandatory.
