About the Role
We are looking for a commercially driven Commercial Project Manager to lead bespoke and non-stocked customer projects from initial enquiry through to successful delivery.
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive project professional who enjoys managing customer requirements, preparing commercial quotations, coordinating suppliers, and delivering profitable projects. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of customer satisfaction.
You will work closely with Account Managers, Project Buyers, Operations teams, Suppliers, and Customers to develop innovative sourcing solutions, provide competitive quotations, and oversee successful project execution from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Quotation & Cost Management
- Review customer enquiries for bespoke and non-stocked products.
- Work closely with Account Managers to fully understand customer requirements and project specifications.
- Identify commercially viable sourcing and supply solutions.
- Partner with Project Buyers and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and lead times.
- Develop accurate costings, quotations, and recommendations.
- Ensure pricing strategies support profitability and margin objectives.
Project Ownership & Delivery
- Take full ownership of awarded customer projects.
- Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate activities across multiple internal departments.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to customer expectations.
- Proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Lead problem-solving and escalation management activities.
- Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions when required.
Customer, Supplier & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional project meetings and reviews.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and actions.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery, and commercial commitments are achieved.
- Conduct supplier visits where required to review and approve bespoke production processes or products.
Financial & Performance Management
- Manage project profitability and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project costs and manage budget risks proactively.
- Identify opportunities to improve project margins while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and commercial performance.
Operational Coordination
- Work closely with Business Operations teams to facilitate timely ordering and project execution.
- Ensure documentation, system updates, and project records are maintained accurately.
- Delegate administrative and operational activities appropriately while retaining overall project accountability.

- Proven experience managing projects from initiation through to completion.
- Strong commercial awareness and financial understanding.
- Experience producing quotations, costings, or commercial proposals.

- Experience within retail, procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, distribution, or product sourcing environments.
- Experience delivering bespoke or customer-specific projects.
- Knowledge of purchasing, sourcing, and supplier management processes.
- Experience using project management systems and tools.
- Degree-qualified or equivalent professional experience.
