Salary: £150 to £180 per day (PAYE), dependent on experience
KS1 Teacher Job in Leatherhead
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive Infant School in Leatherhead, Surrey from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Primary Teacher or confident KS1 practitioner to take responsibility for a Year 2 class and make a positive impact on pupils' learning, development and achievement.
The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering engaging lessons, creating a nurturing classroom environment and ensuring every child reaches their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver creative, engaging and high-quality lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum
- Lead and manage a Year 2 class effectively
- Assess, monitor and track pupil progress
- Differentiate learning to meet a range of abilities and learning needs
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and classroom management
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and parents
- Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
- Contribute positively to the wider school community
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Previous experience teaching within Key Stage 1
- Experience teaching Year 2 is desirable
- Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment framework
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication, planning and organisational skills
- Confidence using Google Classroom, or the ability to quickly learn and adapt to the platform, as it is used throughout the school to support teaching and learning
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
