Job Title: Commis Chef
Reporting to: Head Chef / Sous Chef
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and cooking food according to hotel recipes and standards.
- Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring.
- Support chefs during breakfast, lunch, dinner, weddings, and special events.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations.
- Follow food hygiene, HACCP, and health and safety regulations.
- Store food correctly and minimise waste.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
- Ensure all dishes are presented to the required standard.
- Work effectively as part of the kitchen team during busy service periods.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Passion for food and hospitality.
- Basic food preparation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable).
- Previous kitchen experience is an advantage but not always essential.

- Reliable and punctual.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Attention to detail.
- Flexible with shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Environment:
- Hotel restaurant, bar, banquet, and event kitchens.
- Rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
