Trainee Sales Assistant
Southampton
Full-Time | Immediate Start Available
Are you passionate about helping others and looking for a role where your communication skills can create a real impact?
We're representing a growing organisation in Southampton that is expanding its face-to-face fundraising team. They are looking for enthusiastic, people-focused individuals who enjoy meeting new people, having meaningful conversations, and supporting worthwhile causes.
No previous sales, fundraising, or customer service experience is required. If you're motivated to learn, enjoy speaking with people, and want to represent charities that make a genuine difference, full training and ongoing support will be provided from day one.
Moon Moments is a recruitment and talent acquisition partner working with businesses across the UK. On behalf of our client, we're looking for confident and enthusiastic individuals to join their charity representation team in Southampton as a Trainee Sales Assistant.
The Role
As a Trainee Sales Assistant, you'll work within the local community, speaking with members of the public about the charities you represent. Your role is to help raise awareness of their mission, values, and the life-changing work they do every day.
Through engaging face-to-face conversations, you'll introduce people to each charity's goals, share inspiring success stories, explain how regular donations make a lasting impact, and answer any questions they may have.
When someone decides they would like to support the charity, you'll guide them through the sign-up process, ensuring they understand how their donation helps and that the experience is professional, informative, and positive from start to finish.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting with people, building relationships, and making a meaningful contribution while developing valuable sales, communication, and customer engagement skills - with full training provided, no experience necessary.
Your Responsibilities
- Represent well-known charities through professional face-to-face community campaigns.
- Engage members of the public in friendly and meaningful conversations.
- Share each charity's mission, values, objectives, and current campaigns.
- Tell inspiring stories about the people, communities, or causes the charity supports.
- Explain how ongoing donations directly contribute to the charity's work and future projects.
- Answer questions clearly, honestly, and confidently.
- Guide new supporters through the donation and sign-up process, ensuring all information is completed accurately.
- Deliver an outstanding supporter experience from the first conversation through to registration.
- Work towards individual and team sales and fundraising objectives.
- Attend ongoing training covering communication, sales techniques, fundraising, product knowledge, and personal development.
- Contribute positively to a supportive and collaborative team environment.

- Passionate about helping others and supporting charitable causes.
- A strong communicator who enjoys building rapport.
- Positive, resilient, and self-motivated.
