Valley Cleaning Services Ltd is a well-established, family-run cleaning company providing commercial, contract, industrial, construction and specialist cleaning services across the North West.
We are looking for a reliable, flexible and hardworking Mobile Relief & Cover Cleaner to join our team.
This is a varied role for someone who enjoys working across different sites and wants something more interesting than being based in the same location every day.
The Role
The successful candidate will provide mobile relief and cover across our cleaning contracts, primarily within the Rossendale area.
Cover will include:
- Holiday cover
- Sickness cover
- Short-term staff absences
- Additional operational support
- Occasional deep cleaning and specialist cleaning work
The vast majority of cover will be within Rossendale and the surrounding area, although cover for our sites in Blackburn, Preston and Blackpool will be necessary at times. Predominantly, most of our services run in the morning, with a couple of afternoon shifts and 2 services running over the weekends. Weekend cover may be needed from time to time but not on a regular basis.
The role will involve working across a variety of commercial and contract cleaning environments, so you'll need to be comfortable adapting to different sites, clients and cleaning requirements.
Quality & Spot Checks
When not required for staff cover, the successful candidate may also support the wider VCS team by carrying out occasional quality and spot checks at client sites.
This may include:
- Checking that agreed cleaning standards are being maintained.
- Identifying and reporting any cleaning issues.
- Reporting equipment, stock or site issues to the Contract Manager.
- Providing feedback to cleaning operatives where appropriate.
- Supporting new starters and colleagues where required.
- Taking photographs or completing basic reporting where requested.
These duties will form part of the normal working role and will be undertaken during paid working hours.
Driving & Travel
A full, valid UK driving licence is essential for this role.
The successful candidate must also have access to their own reliable vehicle for work purposes when a VCS company vehicle/transit van is not available.
All required driving time undertaken as part of the role will be paid.
Business mileage will be reimbursed at:
- 55p per mile for the first 10,000 business miles in the tax year
- 25p per mile for each additional business mile thereafter
