Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cafe Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our bustling café environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of food preparation and safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead a team, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain high standards of food quality and hygiene. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising staff, managing food production, making drinks up to gold standard, must know the basic latte arts and ensuring smooth operational flow in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the café team, including baristas, kitchen staff, and serving personnel.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality standards are met consistently.
- Manage the preparation of a variety of food items, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene across all areas.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders as necessary, and manage inventory to minimise waste.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer queries and resolving any issues promptly.
- Train new staff members on operational procedures, safety standards, and customer service expectations.
- Lead by example in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere whilst promoting teamwork and staff motivation.
- Handle administrative tasks such as shift scheduling, reporting, and maintaining operational documentation.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a café, restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices.
- Experience in managing teams effectively within a busy setting.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations including serving, barista skills, or hotel experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with culinary processes, food production techniques, and kitchen management.
- Previous experience in hospitality roles demonstrating leadership qualities and organisational skills.
