Shift Patterns: 30 -37.5 hours –Monday – Friday, Working hours flexible between 8:00-17:30

We are excited to offer a fixed contract for a Band 7 Highly Specialist Team Lead to join our Adult Inpatient Speech and Language Therapy Service to cover maternity leave. You will provide clinical and professional leadership across adult inpatient areas including general medicine, surgery, stroke and critical care, supporting high-quality, evidence-based care. The role includes leading and developing staff, driving service improvement initiatives, and working with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding patient care.
What you can add:
· Provide specialist clinical expertise and advice on assessment, diagnosis and management of adults with dysphagia and communication difficulties
· Hold responsibility for your own caseload and undertake the measurement and evaluation of own clinical work and practice and that of the acute SLT team, through the use of evidence based projects, practice development work, audit and outcome measures, working within clearly defined operational policies and procedures.
· Provide clinical expertise to the multi-disciplinary team to inform their decision making and to provide advice and guidance to carers, non-clinical staff or members of other professions.
· Provide support, training and education to the multi-disciplinary team and other professionals, regarding optimal feeding practice in the management of adults with complex feeding and swallowing or communication problems.
· Maintain accurate and concise clinical records, providing appropriate reports, attend case conferences and reviews and to provide statistical information to facilitate future business planning in line with Trust guidelines.
· Develop, provide and participate in the training and support of other professionals working with this client group.
· Work collaboratively within relevant multi-disciplinary teams to ensure best practice and care is provided to patients accessing our services.
What you’ll need:
· Hold a Degree in Speech & Language Therapy or equivalent.
· RCSLT Certificate to Practice as a Speech and Language Therapist
· Be HCPC registered.
· Have previous NHS experience.
· Experience with Dysphagia.
· Written and verbal communication skills which allow professional information to be conveyed in an accurate and organised manner.
In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of

· Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
