SEND Support Staff – Nationwide
Compass SEN Support is recruiting caring, reliable and professional staff to support children, young people and families with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the UK.
We are building a nationwide team of practitioners who can provide high-quality, person-centred support within their own local area.
Successful applicants will normally be matched with families within a reasonable travelling distance of where they live. You will not be expected to travel nationwide.
Pay
- Assistant SEN Practitioner – from £14.50 per hour
- SEN Practitioner – from £19.00 per hour
- Senior SEN Practitioner – from £25.00 per hour
The role offered will depend on your experience, skills and suitability.
About the role
Depending on your appointed role, responsibilities may include:
- Supporting children and young people with SEND
- Supporting autism, communication needs and learning needs
- Helping children develop independence, confidence and daily living skills
- Supporting routines, play, community participation and social interaction
- Delivering prepared literacy, maths and communication activities
- Supporting agreed targets and individual support plans
- Observing progress and providing clear feedback
- Completing accurate session notes
- Working professionally and respectfully with families
- Following safeguarding, confidentiality and Compass policies at all times
More experienced practitioners may also deliver targeted or advanced SEND programmes appropriate to their role.

Previous SEND, education, care, support work or family support experience is welcomed.
Relevant qualifications and experience will be considered when determining your Compass role.
DBS requirements
Applicants must either:
- Hold an appropriate Enhanced DBS registered with the DBS Update Service, or
- Be prepared to obtain the required DBS as part of the Compass recruitment process.
All appointments are subject to satisfactory safeguarding, reference and compliance checks.
Hours
This is a part-time, flexible, zero-hours role.
Hours will depend on family demand within your local area and your own availability.
Sessions may be available during:
- School hours
- Weekdays
- After-school hours
- Evenings
- Weekends
- School holidays
Hours are not guaranteed and may vary depending on family referrals, local demand and your availability.
This is a nationwide recruitment campaign across the United Kingdom.
Staff will normally support families within their own town, city or surrounding area.
