About the Role
Are you an organised, honest, and energetic professional looking for a management role with stable, family friendly daytime hours? We are launchingDragonZone, a brand new indoor soft play and community café based at the Thornwell Pavilion in Chepstow. We are looking for a trustworthy, independent Site Manager to take complete day to day ownership of the venue and be the welcoming face of our business.
This role offers a unique balance; you get the professional pride of running a site independently, but with none of the stressful back end administration. The owner handles all staff rotas, stock ordering, financial paperwork, and digital accounting. Your sole focus is managing the daily floor, keeping kids safe, and making parents feel welcome.
The role will be full time from 1st October, with training offered in the weeks leading up to the launch date.
Please note: DragonZone is a 100% digital, card only venue. There is zero cash handling required.
Core Responsibilities
- Site Ownership: Independently open the pavilion each morning, ensuring the café and play frame are pristine and ready to welcome families on time.
- Front of House & Check In: Greet parents, carers, and children enthusiastically, managing admissions smoothly using our custom built digital check in terminal.
- Café Operations: Prepare and serve hot drinks, cold beverages, and light snacks. Maintain immaculate cleanliness across the seating area and tables throughout the day.
- Health, Safety & Hygiene: Take pride in visual ownership of the site. Execute quick, structured 30 minute cleaning turnarounds between play sessions to ensure a safe, hygienic environment.
What We Are Looking For
Because our doors cannot open to the community without you, absolute reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic are non negotiable.
- The Right Experience: Previous experience in a face to face, customer focused role is required. Backgrounds in hospitality, retail supervision, school catering, or early years childcare are highly desirable.
- A Child Friendly Attitude: While this is a hospitality and site management role rather than a childcare position, you must genuinely enjoy working around children and busy families. A high tolerance for a noisy, joyful, and lively environment is essential!
- Independence: A mature, proactive mindset with the confidence to run the floor and solve minor daily customer queries without direct day to day supervision.
- Hygiene Standards: Basic understanding of food hygiene (or a willingness to complete a quick, fully funded certificate before your start date).
What We Offer:
- Competitive, Stable Pay: £27,500 base salary, placing your earnings safely above the National Living Wage with a genuine management premium.
- The "Zero Disruption" Bonus: An extra bonus paid out every single quarter purely to reward your perfect attendance and dedication to keeping our venue open.
- Great Work Life Balance: Completely predictable daytime hours with a guaranteed, structured 45 minute lunch break every day.
- Secure Employment: A permanent, stable contract with full statutory rights, pension enrolment, and paid holiday.
Pay: £25,000.00-£27,500.00 per year
Benefits:
- Casual dress
- Company pension
- Employee discount
- Free parking
