We’re currently looking for a Skilled 14T Machine Driver to join our experienced team — someone who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of safety, and can deliver to the highest standard on busy construction sites.
Operate a 14-tonne excavator safely and efficiently in line with company and site procedures
Excavate strip foundations, drainage runs, and service trenches accurately to level and line
Work confidently with trench boxes, drag boxes, manhole boxes, and trench sheets, ensuring lifting operations are carried out safely
Carry out fine grading and finishing works, including topsoil, type 1, and road formation to required tolerances
Read and interpret drawings, site plans, and levels, working closely with engineers and foremen
Always obtain and comply with dig permits before breaking ground
Work safely around live services, demonstrating strong knowledge of service avoidance procedures
Conduct daily pre-start checks, maintain accurate inspection records, and report any faults or maintenance needs promptly
Perform routine greasing, cleaning, and basic maintenance to keep the machine in excellent working condition
Take ownership and pride in the machine – maintaining a high standard of care and presentation
Support the site team proactively, managing time efficiently and adapting to changing site priorities
