Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Carer to join our team at Carlton Hall. You will be supporting our team to provide exceptional care within a care home environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to supporting residents. This role involves supervising care staff, reviewing care plans, and ensuring the highest standards of resident wellbeing are maintained. The Senior Carer will play a vital role in fostering a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for all residents, ensuring that our core values are implemented.
Duties
- Oversee daily care within the care home, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and regulatory standards
- Supervise and support care staff, providing guidance and mentorship to promote professional development
- Develop, review, and update personalised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Support residents with personal care tasks
- Administer medication following prescribed protocols and document accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of resident progress, incidents, and care interventions using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare teams, and external agencies to ensure seamless care delivery
- Contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating leadership qualities and fostering open communication
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a care home or senior care setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team of carers
- Experience in developing and managing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Competence in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- Knowledge of current regulations governing adult social care and safeguarding procedures
