An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual, to join the Lung Cancer Screening as a Service Manager.
The post will be based at Tribune House (YO30 4RY), however the successful candidate may on occasion be required to travel to other sites.
The successful candidate requires excellent communication and team working skills, and will work closely with clinical and non clinical staff on a daily basis, organising and prioritising both their own workload and that of others.
They must have the ability to exercise sound judgement in relation to problem solving, and the ability to practice delegation, negotiation and motivation skills. Most importantly the candidate must have a flexible and patient centred approach.

The successful candidate will be required to:
Provide management support on a daily basis. The main focus of this is to manage day to day operational issues, to ensure smooth running of the Lung Cancer Screening Service.
Assist the Programme Manager in the planning of the service, management of patient activity through the pathway and maintaining a safe and affective service.
Support the Operational Service Manager in investigating and responding to patient complaints and concerns, received in an appropriate and timely manner, in accordance with Trust policy.
You will be responsible for the line management of a team of administrative staff. The range of authority in this respect will be dependent upon the internal management reporting arrangements, but will include a combination of acting as an appointment panel member, making recruitment and selection decisions, conducting personal development reviews, dealing with the initial or subsequent stages of disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence and performance issues.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that appropriate training is delivered to all staff, and that individual staff member(s) work allocation is managed effectively and reallocated as required, to best meet the needs of the service.
