PART-TIME DUTY MANAGER The New Market Bar – Under New Ownership
The New Market Bar is entering an exciting new chapter under new ownership, and we are looking for an ambitious, energetic, and commercially-minded Part-Time Duty Manager to help drive the business forward.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is passionate about hospitality and has the ability to increase food and beverage sales, lead and develop teams, create memorable customer experiences, and help establish The New Market Bar as a destination venue within the local community.
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the venue, leading both front-of-house and kitchen teams to deliver outstanding service and a high-quality food and drink offering. You will play a key role in driving revenue through exceptional customer service, promotions, events, social media engagement, and creative sales initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading and motivating bar and kitchen teams.
- Driving food and beverage sales through upselling, promotions, and excellent service standards.
- Managing and developing a quality cocktail offering.
- Overseeing cellar operations, stock control, ordering, waste management, and GP performance.
- Supporting the kitchen team in delivering a consistent and profitable food service.
- Recruiting, training, coaching, and developing staff.
- Planning and delivering events, themed nights, entertainment, and community activities.
- Creating engaging social media content to increase footfall and customer engagement.
- Building relationships with local businesses, clubs, and community groups.
- Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, food hygiene regulations, and health & safety standards.
- Handling customer feedback and maintaining exceptional hospitality standards.
About You
You will have previous supervisory or management experience within hospitality and be a confident leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Cocktail experience and cellar management knowledge are highly desirable, along with a proven ability to drive sales and motivate teams.
Experience in event planning, social media marketing, food-led operations, and developing new business opportunities would be a distinct advantage. A Personal Licence is preferred but not essential.
