We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused Assistant Brickwork & Scaffold Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within quantity surveying and gain valuable experience across brickwork, scaffolding and construction projects. You will work alongside the commercial manager supporting the financial and contractual management of projects from tender through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the measurement and valuation of brickwork and scaffolding works.
- Support the preparation of subcontractor packages, orders and valuations.
- Assist with pricing variations, applications for payment and final accounts.
- Help monitor project costs, budgets and expenditure.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of monthly commercial reports.
- Review drawings, specifications and scopes of work to identify quantities and commercial requirements.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, site teams and clients.
- Assist with procurement and obtaining competitive quotations.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
- Attend site visits and project meetings where required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about developing a career in quantity surveying and has a keen interest in the construction industry.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience within construction, brickwork, scaffolding or a commercial environment.
- Some understanding of construction drawings, specifications and quantities.
- Good numeracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- A willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related subject would be advantageous, but is not essential.
