Blue Raspberry Hair is seeking a motivated, and enthusiastic Level 2 Hairdressing Apprentice to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring stylist with a passion for hairdressing, to learn and develop their skills in a welcoming and supportive salon setting.
You’ll gain hands‑on experience from the get-go, learning how to stay ahead of trends while delivering high-quality, personalised services to every client who walks through the door.
What you will learn
- How to shampoo & condition hair
- To cut hair using a range of techniques
- Colour and lighten hair
- Blow-drying and basic styling
- How to section hair correctly
- Plaiting and simple updos
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting clients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Reception duties to include answering the telephone, making appointments & takings clients bills
- Making beverages for the clients.
- Maintaining cleanliness throughout the salon, keeping workstations clean & tidy, floor kept clear of hair.
- Assisting stylists as needed throughout the day.
- Shadowing stylists to gather hairdressing knowledge
- Washing client’s hair in preparation of services, removing colours & neutralising perms.
- You will have a dedicated in salon training session one afternoon a week working on real clients.

Working Week: 30hrs per week, 5 days a week (including a Saturday). College – 1 day per week.
Salary: £12,480
Qualifications: English and Maths GCSE minimum grade 2 is desirable
Future Prospects: Following successful completion of course, there might be the opportunity for further progression.

What you need to know
- This role is based in Bognor with any required attendance at college in Chichester.
- You MUST BE free from full time education to be eligible to apply for an apprenticeship.
- You MUST BE resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years prior to the start of learning and have work authorisation for the UK.
- You MUST BE resident in the area local to the apprenticeship opportunity or be prepared to relocate in time to start employment and study.
- The role will start on successful recruitment, and the apprenticeship course will begin in October 2026
- 24-month apprenticeship (training period) excluding End Point Assessment
- This position is on site in Bognor for 5 days (including a Saturday) with 1 day at Chichester College.
Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £8.00 per hour (As of the 1st April 2026). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16- to 18-year-old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their ages applies.
Pay: £12,480.00 per year
