Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Mobile Mechanic to join our team. This role involves providing on-site maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting services for a variety of heavy machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, along with experience in fabrication, welding, and the use of hand and power tools. The Mobile Mechanic will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and safely, contributing to the smooth running of our operations across multiple sites. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on heavy machinery such as excavators, forklifts, and other equipment.
- Perform repairs including welding, fabrication, soldering, and electrical work using schematics and technical diagrams.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialised machinery to carry out repairs and assembly tasks.
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed to ensure optimal functionality of equipment.
- Assist with the installation, assembly, and dismantling of machinery components on-site.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance schedules.
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving or installing equipment or parts.
Skills
- Proven experience in mechanical repair, electrical systems, welding, fabrication, soldering, and schematics interpretation.
- Strong knowledge of heavy machinery such as excavators and forklifts.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance apparatus.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently across different sites.
- Physical fitness for heavy lifting and working in various outdoor environments.
- Customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients and team members.
- Prior experience in equipment assembly or repair is desirable but not essential; training will be provided where necessary.
