Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver's to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for safely operating curtain side lorries to deliver goods across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service. The position requires a valid HGV Class 1 licence and previous commercial driving experience. The ideal applicant will be organised, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of driving and vehicle maintenance. There are night out on occasions.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV lorries to transport goods to designated destinations in a timely manner
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and efficiently, adhering to schedules and routes
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any issues promptly
- Secure loads properly using appropriate equipment to prevent movement during transit
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Comply with all legal requirements and company policies regarding driving hours, tachograph regulations, and safety procedures
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling techniques are used
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
Experience
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence (C+E) is essential
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with curtain side vehicles or similar large lorries
- Delivery driver experience over 2 years is highly desirable
- Familiarity with UK road networks and routes relevant to the delivery area
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety checks and maintenance routines
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively and manage time efficiently

Pay: £14.00-£18.00 per hour
