Class 2 HGV Driver/Loader (Cover Driver)
Location: Hurn Airport, Bournemouth
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 4:00am start until finish
Salary: OTE £43,000 per annum

About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Class 2 HGV Driver/Loader to join our team based at Hurn Airport, Bournemouth.
This is a cover driver role, providing holiday and absence cover across our waste and recycling collection operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving and operating a waste collection vehicle while carrying out waste and recycling collections on designated routes.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, is flexible, and is happy to adapt to different routes and operational requirements when covering colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and operate a Class 2 HGV waste collection vehicle.
- Provide cover for drivers during holidays, annual leave, training, and other absences.
- Carry out waste and recycling collections across designated routes.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
- Ensure collections are carried out safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Comply with all Driver CPC, tachograph, road transport, and health & safety regulations.
- Complete relevant paperwork and vehicle records accurately.
- Represent the company professionally when dealing with customers and members of the public.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous Class 2 driving experience preferred.
- Good understanding of transport legislation and driver hours regulations.
- Flexible approach to covering different routes and duties.
- Physically fit and comfortable carrying out loading duties.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.
