Overview
Experienced Cook to work in new Community Training Café – must be super organised, love young people (and dogs!), be a really flexible team player and hard worker with loads of imagination. To start there will be a simple menu that can be expanded once operations are running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of simple menu items with precision and consistency, following established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Monitor ingredients and supplies, notifying management when stock levels are low or replenishment is needed
- Support the serving staff by ensuring food is presented attractively and served promptly
- Follow all safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with team members to uphold high-quality food standards and enhance customer satisfaction
Requirements
- This is a new venture offering hospitality training to young people - a calm and empathetic disposition is essential
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles within a restaurant or café setting
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety regulations
- Ability to work efficiently
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with staff effectively and act as strong role model to young trainees
Pay: £15.00-£19.14 per hour
