As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Hire Manager / Sound & Lighting Engineer to become a key part of our team.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on position combining warehouse management with live event engineering.
You'll oversee the day-to-day operation of our hire department, ensuring equipment is correctly prepared, maintained and returned to the highest standard. You'll also work on-site at a wide range of events, from private functions to major festivals.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage all hire equipment through prep and de-prep.
- Maintain accurate stock records using RMS hire management software.
- Test, clean and prepare sound, lighting and production equipment.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs.
- Manufacture and repair cables.
- Ensure all equipment is presented to the highest standard before dispatch.
- Organise warehouse operations and maintain a clean, safe and efficient working environment.
- Load and unload vehicles for events.
- Work on-site as a Sound & Lighting Engineer.
- Lead the technical delivery of festivals and large-scale productions.
- Carry out equipment servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Assist with stock management and inventory control.
About You
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within the live events or entertainment industry.
- Experience using RMS hire management software.
- Strong knowledge of professional audio, lighting and production equipment.
- Experience repairing cables and maintaining technical equipment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A proactive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
- Pride in maintaining equipment to a professional standard.
- A full UK driving licence (preferred).
Working Hours
We can offer either a full-time or part-time permanent position depending on the successful applicant.
Warehouse hours:
- Monday to Friday
- 9:00am – 5:00pm
Due to the nature of the live events industry, flexibility is essential. Evening, weekend, bank holiday and overnight work will occasionally be required when supporting events, festivals and installations.
