You will be working at our Triangle North Cave petrol forecourt alongside the forecourt manager, assisting with the day-to-day running of the retail office and as well as assisting with holiday & sickness cover for cashiers shifts.

We strive to give enthusiastic, efficient and friendly service at all times to both new and regular customers alongside the safe sale of fuel and other age restricted products. Additionally you will be required to undertake general stocking and cleaning duties, and other ad hoc jobs as requested by your manager.
Your role includes a variety of additional responsibilities beyond working as a cashier, and you will be expected to lead by example in line with company policies and procedures.
You will be required to work to your own initiative under your managers instruction to complete all tasks as allocated within the retail office. This may include, managing regular stock counts in line with company requirements, stocking the shop, cash counting, daily paperwork, time and attendance (clock cards), overseeing receipt of deliveries, stock claims, assisting with training, rota planning and sickness and holiday cover.
You will be working within our Triangle North Cave petrol forecourt and you will be required to undertake general stocking and cleaning duties, and other ad hoc jobs as requested by your manager. Your role will also include the safe sale of fuel and other age restricted products, as well as other shop goods.
Additionally, you would be expected to assist your manager with emergency out of hours on call duties. This means you would be required to have strong knowledge of the forecourt and till systems, as well as no means of payment and returns policies to provide assistance where needed.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Creating strong relationships with customers, providing excellent customer service.
- Serving fuel and goods to customers with the main role and responsibility being the health and safety of the forecourt.
- General cleaning and stocking duties.
- Performing emergency on call duties out of hours alongside the back-office team.
- Using your own initiative to problem solve any issues that may arise throughout your shifts and assisting with any out of hours calls and contacting the correct member of staff to escalate any issues you cannot confidently resolve yourself.
- Flexibility to provide support and cover for holidays and sickness both within the standard rota shifts and back-office cover when your manager is on holiday.
- Assisting with organising shift cover.
- Working within the back office, assisting with ad hoc paperwork, and cashing up.
- Stock counting and merchandising.
- Awareness of the security of the shop, keeping an eye out for theft and drive offs.
- Reporting directly to your forecourt manager.
Requirements for the Role:
- Previous experience within retail is preferable but not required as full training will be provided.
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude, with a strong ability to work well as both part of a team or individually in a high paced work environment.
- Flexibility to help cover holidays and sickness is a strong requirement.
- Ability to follow direction as well as using your own initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Professional, friendly, and approachable manner.
- You will need to be physically able stand for the length of your shift and have the ability to lift and carry heavy stock as well as carrying out any cleaning duties.
- Confident to run the shop alone if required.
