Position: School Caretaker
Location: Bright Fields School, Retford, Nottinghamshire
Hours: Full-time (with occasional evenings/weekends)
Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 per annum

We are now seeking a reliable, hands-on, and proactive Caretaker to join our friendly team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a supportive school community where your contribution truly matters.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Ensuring the school site is safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained
- Carrying out minor repairs, basic maintenance, and decorating
- Ensuring the site meets Health and Safety Standards
- Supporting with setting up for school events and activities
- Overseeing contractors and monitoring site safety
- Opening/locking the premises and ensuring health and safety standards are met
- General groundskeeping
Who We’re Looking For:
- Someone practical and trustworthy with a “can-do” attitude
- Experience in a maintenance or caretaking role (essential)
- An understanding of health & safety procedures
- Experience completing Risk Assessment and Health & Safety reports
- A commitment to creating a supportive environment for students with SEN
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
