Your role:
Would you like to support Greater Manchester's population health work, contributing towards a healthier and fairer city-region?
We are looking for three Lead Analysts to join the GMCA Research Team, working on our population health research and analysis programme. A key area of responsibility will be providing research, evaluation, and analytical support to local authorities and partners - including the voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise sector (VCFSE) - as part of the Prevention Demonstrator.
The Prevention Demonstrator is a pioneering partnership with government designed to test proactive public service reform via Live Well: the Greater Manchester commitment to ensuring great everyday support is available in every neighbourhood.
You will also undertake research and analysis into population health issues (with a particular focus on health inequalities) and carry out wider research and analysis activities exploring how population health connects with other key policy areas in Greater Manchester.
Your work will be varied and likely to include:

Undertaking qualitative research as part of process learning, exploring how Live Well is changing how public services are designed and delivered
- Working with local authorities and their partners, including the VCFSE, to support them in undertaking qualitative research with communities to understand the impact that Live Well is having on people's lives
- Undertaking financial analysis to gauge the extent to which Live Well is helping to reduce the amount of money spent on expensive crisis services
- Accessing and analysing NHS datasets, in combination with data held by other agencies and services
- Analysing both publicly available and locally-held datasets to generate insights into population health in GM

Grade 6 = £35,570.00 - £39,481.00
Grade 7 = £40,444.00 - £44,253.00

About you:
We are looking for people who can show us they have:

Experience of undertaking research and analysis, including delivering research projects

Confidence in sourcing, analysing, and presenting complex information to specialist and non-specialist audiences

Strong analytical skills, with evidence of working with complex quantitative data sets

Knowledge and experience of qualitative methods and undertaking research with communities
- Excellent writing and presentation abilities (including presenting technical material to non-technical audiences)
- An understanding of how data and evidence can be used to inform policy and delivery, and how to maximise insight and intelligence from research

Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with various stakeholders, internally and externally

An awareness of the political landscape of Greater Manchester
- An eagerness to learn new techniques and approaches you are self-motivated and able to use your own initiative to take work forward

Applicants may have mostly either qualitative or quantitative skills, or a combination of both. Your experience may come from previous work experience, your life experience, or academic study.
