NURSERY CLEANER (PART-TIME)

Hours:
5.5 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 5:30pm to 6:30pm
- One day per week: 5:30pm to 7:00pm
Salary:
Starting at £13.00 per hour, rising to £14.00 per hour following the successful completion of a probationary period.
Join Our Team
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and conscientious Nursery Cleaner to join our friendly team. This important role helps ensure that our nursery remains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, families, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and sanitising nursery rooms, play areas, and communal spaces.
- Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
- Cleaning and disinfecting toilets, handwashing facilities, and changing areas.
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Cleaning kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Sanitising toys, equipment, furniture, and frequently touched surfaces.
- Replenishing cleaning and hygiene supplies.
- Reporting maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns to management.
What We Are Looking For
Essential: Previous cleaning experience; reliable, punctual and trustworthy; good attention to detail; ability to work independently.
Desirable: Experience in a nursery, school, childcare, healthcare or similar environment; knowledge of COSHH and infection control procedures.
Safeguarding and DBS Requirements
As this role is based within a childcare setting, applicants must hold a current Enhanced DBS Certificate registered with the DBS Update Service and be willing to provide consent for the nursery to carry out the necessary status check. The successful applicant will also be required to provide satisfactory references and comply with all nursery safeguarding requirements.
