We are looking to attract the best, so, we are putting our best foot forward: No split shifts, just about every Sunday and Monday off, time off over Christmas/New Year and a flexible work pattern.
Tuesday - Friday will generally be spent in the kitchen, preparing for events.
Saturdays will be spent delivering events. Here, we need somebody who has experience of mass catering and can confidently run service.
In the kitchen, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of ‘mise en place’ for upcoming events
- An active role in supporting the head chef in the running of the kitchen
- Ensuring kitchen, fridge and loading areas are kept clean and tidy
- Accurate record keeping of food hygiene practises
At events, your responsibilities will include:
- Traveling to the event venue and kitchen set-up at the venue as required
- Entering service completely prepared and organised to deliver a flawless and stress-free event
- Effective managment of your kitchen team, and clear communication with the Event Manager
- Pack down, return to the kitchen and unload
We are looking for a chef who can demonstrate:
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Adaptability and decision making skills
- An obsessive attention to detail
- The ability to think quickly and stay calm in a crisis
- The ability to manage a team as well as work independently
- Technical knowledge of high level cooking
Experience:
The chef we’re looking for should have experience in cooking food from scratch (ideally from within a high level kitchen), creative flair and able to work to precision of the highest standards.
The successful chef must have a minimum of one years’ experience in cooking at a high level, knowledge within all sections in the kitchen and strong knife skills.
Food Hygiene Certification (Level 2+) and Driving license required.
