Key ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping & Accounts
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records.
- Process supplier invoices and purchase invoices.
- Raise and issue customer sales invoices.
- Match purchase orders against supplier invoices.
- Reconcile supplier statements.
- Carry out bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Assist with customer credit control and chase outstanding invoices where required.
- Prepare supplier payment information for approval.
- Record business expenses and receipts.
- Maintain accurate records within the company's accounting software.
- Assist with VAT return preparation and supporting documentation.
- Support month-end financial processes.
- Assist management and external accountants with financial information when required.
- Maintain organised digital records of invoices, receipts, purchase orders and other financial documents.
Administration
- Provide general administrative support to the management and operational teams.
- Maintain company records and filing systems.
- Assist with purchase orders and supplier documentation.
- Process incoming correspondence and documentation.
- Maintain spreadsheets, trackers and internal records.
- Assist with employee and subcontractor documentation.
- Support the preparation and formatting of company documents.
- Assist with vehicle, insurance and other company administration.
- Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding administrative and accounts matters.
- Assist with general office duties and other reasonable administrative tasks as required.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous bookkeeping, accounts assistant or finance administration experience.
- Good understanding of basic bookkeeping principles.
- Experience processing purchase and sales invoices.
- Experience with bank reconciliation.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Confidence communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Experience using Xero would be highly advantageous.
Experience within an engineering, construction, manufacturing or service business would also be beneficial but is not essential.
Pay: From £28,000.00 per year
