We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the General Manager in our exciting new Goodness Restaurant in Trago Mills Newton Abbot. This is a full-time role for 39 hours per week and is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Our restaurant is open every day of the week from 9am-4pm, however working hours for the role are 8am-5pm. The ideal candidate will be available to work flexible hours, across all seven days including weekends.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Deputy Manager will play a key role in leading the team, maintaining operational standards, driving performance, and ensuring the restaurant consistently delivers outstanding service.

Responsibilities:
- Support the General Manager in all aspects of restaurant operations.
- Lead and motivate team members to provide exceptional customer service.
- Manage shifts and oversee daily restaurant activities.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and company policies.
- Assist with recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Monitor stock levels, ordering, and waste control.
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
- Support the delivery of sales targets and profitability objectives.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety
- Conduct regular audits to ensure the shop is functional and presentable
- Act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the General Manager.
Requirements:
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Manager or Supervisor experience within a catering environment is essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
- Due to the tasks involved within this role, you must be 18 or over.
