Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety and comfort while promoting independence.
- Implement individualised care plans tailored to each client’s specific mental health needs.
- Monitor and document clients’ progress, behaviors, and responses to interventions accurately.
- Support clients in developing coping strategies and social skills through therapeutic activities.
- Administer medication following prescribed protocols, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including clinicians, educators, and families to coordinate care.
- Provide emotional support and active listening to help clients manage stress, anxiety, or behavioral issues.
- Assist in crisis intervention when necessary, maintaining calmness and professionalism at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment that complies with health and safety regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training related to applied behavior analysis (ABA), special education, and disability support.
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and mental health conditions.
- Experience administering medication safely within a healthcare or support setting.
- Strong patient care skills combined with the ability to handle challenging behaviours professionally.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing crisis situations effectively.
Day & Night shifts are available on an on-going basis. Full & Part time hours available.
Shift times can be flexible to accommodate availability.
