Location: Mick George Head Office - Huntingdon, with regular travel to various Mick George Contracting sites.
Working Hours: Monday – Friday as per site requirements , Saturdays as and when required.

Role Purpose
Reporting to the Operations Manager, Earthworks Division, this senior leadership role is accountable for the commercial performance, operational delivery and safety of multiple live earthworks and soil stabilisation subcontracts. You will lead site management teams, own the contractual position on your projects, and act as the key client-facing representative, ensuring successful projects.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the commercial and contractual management of multiple earthworks and soil stabilisation subcontracts
- Administering NEC and JCT contracts — early warnings, compensation events, extensions of time, variations, valuations, remeasures and final accounts
- Protecting margin and managing commercial risk, working alongside our Commercial Manager and quantity surveyors
- Owning programme performance across your projects, forecasting realistically and acting early when delivery is at risk
- Leading and developing Site Managers, Supervisors and site teams, setting clear expectations and managing performance
- Setting and enforcing health, safety and environmental standards across your sites, leading investigations and driving corrective actions to closure
- Managing plant, labour, materials and subcontract resource across multiple projects
- Building and maintaining client relationships, leading progress and commercial meetings and resolving disputes
- Reporting accurately on cost, value, programme and safety performance to senior leadership
Skills & Qualifications Required
Essential
- At least 5 years' experience in Earthworks/Civils contract management
- Demonstrable experience administering NEC4 and JCT contracts
- CSCS Black Card, supported by NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management or equivalent
- SMSTS, and a working understanding of CDM 2015 principal contractor duties
- Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience of soil stabilisation using lime and cement binders
- Experience working as a subcontractor to tier one contractors
- Familiarity with plant fleet management and utilisation
- Formal NEC4 training or accreditation
