We Are Adventurers is the largest independent provider of forest school led learning in the North West. Our team delivers in school, after school and holiday club programmes that are developed to help children fall in love with the natural world while gaining confidence in themselves and their abilities.
We work with nurseries, primary and secondary schools and direct with parents, with children from 2 years upwards, travelling to their site to deliver programmes of activities all year round.
Our leaders come from a range of backgrounds - some are qualified teachers who value the outdoor classroom, others are passionate about the outdoor world. We have several leaders who have chosen a second career in outdoor learning because of the sense of fulfillment working with children in the outdoors can bring and the value we place on transferable skills.
Your job would be to follow a programme of activity that’s been set out by We Are Adventurers. Prepare for your sessions, deliver the sessions on site and evaluate how those sessions have gone so that the learning journey can be mapped and improved upon.
The sessions themselves range from woodland identification and outdoor survival, to safe use of tools and fire. You will need to be able to follow lesson plans that explain the objectives of each session and then engage the children with the subject in the most appropriate way. This requires careful observation as every class and every child is different.
As part of your development, you would then help to improve and refine our programme, bringing new and creative ways to help children to love the natural world.
All training will be provided through a combination of on the job development and independent learning through the Forest School framework.
Person specification: Able to drive and have their own transport, able to work occasional weekends, reliability, impeccable time keeping, ability to make good decisions under pressure, a positive outlook, a passion for nature, good organisational skills, ability to engage children, parents and teachers.
Qualification required: Forest School Level 3.

Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
