Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Operative to join our dynamic manufacturing team. As a Production Operative you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality flour products. Working as part of our manufacturing team, you'll be responsible for operating milling equipment, maintaining product quality, supporting continuous improvement, and helping to deliver production targets safely and efficiently. You'll gain hands-on experience across all stages of the milling process, from raw material intake through to finished product storage, while receiving structured training and development.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor milling plant to achieve optimum performance.
- Carry out routine product testing and quality checks.
- Monitor plant performance and report any quality or operational issues.
- Support preventative maintenance and minor maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, BRC, food safety, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate production, quality, and shift records.
- Assist in coordinating production activities and effective shift handovers.
- Contribute ideas for process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to site health & safety standards and requirements

- Experience within flour milling or food manufacturing (desirable)
- Good understanding of food safety, quality, and hygiene standards.
- Experience operating manufacturing or process plant equipment.
- Basic IT skills and experience with production data entry.
- Good communication and organisational skills.

Shift Pattern: 7 x 12 hr shifts on days - followed by 7 days off - followed by 7 x 12hr nights - followed by 7 days off (42hrs p/week average)
Holidays: 25 days annual leave + bank hols
