Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Landscape Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor environments, ensuring that gardens, parks, and landscaped areas are kept in pristine condition. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilise a range of tools and machinery, and contribute to the aesthetic appeal of various outdoor spaces. Prior experience in horticulture, gardening, or construction is highly desirable, alongside a passion for outdoor work and environmental care.
Duties
- Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, planting, and fertilising to ensure healthy growth and visual appeal.
- Operate mechanical equipment such as excavators and power tools safely and efficiently for various landscaping tasks.
- Use hand tools for planting, trimming, digging, and other gardening activities with precision.
- Install and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of landscaped areas.
- Conduct construction-related tasks such as laying pathways, constructing garden features, or installing fencing.
- Carry out general maintenance of equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of new landscaping projects in collaboration with clients or team members.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations while maintaining high standards of quality.
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture.
- Mechanical knowledge related to the operation and maintenance of power tools and machinery such as excavators.
- Familiarity with hand tools used in gardening and construction tasks.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and upkeep.
- Ability to perform physical labour including lifting heavy materials and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Experience working with construction or landscaping projects is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure quality workmanship.
- Valid relevant qualifications or certifications in horticulture, landscaping, or related fields are preferred but not essential.
- A proactive attitude with excellent teamwork skills and a commitment to safety standards.
