Coordinator
Location: West BromwichJob Type: Full Time | Permanent
Join a leading UK manufacturer of bespoke contract furniture.
Jameson Seating has been designing and manufacturing bespoke furniture for hotels, luxury care homes, retirement living, restaurants, bars and commercial interiors for over 40 years.
We’re looking for an organised, commercially minded person to join our growing team. This isn’t a traditional office job - you’ll become involved in every stage of a project, from the first enquiry through to manufacture, delivery and installation.
You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues, visit customer sites, liaise with suppliers across the UK and Europe, and gain a real understanding of how commercial furniture projects come together.
If you enjoy variety, learning new skills and want genuine long-term career progression, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
You’ll support our commercial team by:
- Preparing quotations and cost estimates
- Sourcing furniture from UK and European manufacturers
- Liaising with suppliers regarding prices, lead times and technical information
- Negotiating supplier pricing
- Ordering fabrics, finishes and bought-in furniture
- Coordinating supplier orders through to delivery
- Working closely with our factory team to ensure projects run smoothly
- Speaking with customers by phone, email and in person
- Visiting customer sites for meetings and measuring when required
- Assisting with scheduling, project administration and customer support
Every day is different. One day you could be obtaining prices from European manufacturers, the next visiting a customer before returning to prepare quotations for a luxury hotel or care home project.
About You
You don’t need to know everything about furniture—we’ll teach you that.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Organised with excellent attention to detail
- Commercially aware and confident with numbers
- Comfortable speaking to customers and suppliers
- Able to manage multiple projects at once
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Keen to learn and develop
- Happy to travel occasionally within the UK
Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:
- Furniture
- Commercial interiors
- Manufacturing
- Construction
- Fit-out
- Estimating
- Purchasing
- Project coordination
- Sales support
A full UK driving licence is essential.
Career Progression
This isn’t a job where you’ll stay doing the same thing forever.
As your experience grows, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Manage your own customer accounts
- Lead customer meetings
- Carry out site surveys
- Prepare commercial proposals and specifications
- Build relationships with designers, contractors and end users
- Identify new business opportunities
- Progress into a customer-facing commercial and business development role
We’re looking for someone who wants to build a career, not simply find their next job.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Genuine long-term career progression
- Full product and industry training
- Company pension
- Free on-site parking
- A varied role where no two days are the same
- The opportunity to work on exciting hospitality, care and commercial projects throughout the UK
Working Hours
We work 8:00am-4:00pm Monday to Thursday, finishing at around 3:00pm on Fridays.
Although this is a full-time office-based role, we’re also realistic. We’re a family-run business and believe in treating people like adults. If you need to attend an appointment, do the school run or leave early occasionally, we’ll always do our best to be flexible.
The role is based in our West Bromwich office because that’s where the learning happens. You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues and spend time in our factory to understand how our furniture is designed and manufactured.
Why Join Jameson Seating?
You’ll be joining a friendly, supportive team where everyone works together to solve problems and deliver quality projects. We manufacture some furniture ourselves, source specialist products from leading European partners, and work with clients across hospitality, luxury care, retirement living and commercial interiors.
If you’re looking for a role where you can genuinely make a difference and build a long-term career, we’d love to hear from you.
Benefits:
- Casual dress
- Company pension
- Free parking
- On-site parking
- Sick pay
Ability to commute/relocate:
- West Bromwich B70: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Application question(s):
- In 200 words or less, why does this role appeal to you?
- This role involves learning about furniture manufacturing, preparing quotations, visiting customers and dealing with suppliers. Which part of the role excites you most, and why?
