Role Purpose:
To support the efficient operation of Techni Engineering's production facility by ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, movement and dispatch of materials and finished goods, while maintaining high standards of safety, organisation and stock control.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently using the appropriate lifting equipment.
- Receive, inspect and book in goods from suppliers, ensuring quantities and documentation are accurate.
- Visually inspect incoming and outgoing materials for obvious damage or defects and report any discrepancies.
- Store raw materials, castings and finished products in designated locations, maintaining a clean and organised warehouse.
- Pick materials accurately in line with production schedules and work orders.
- Prepare, pack and label products for dispatch in accordance with company standards and customer requirements.
- Assist with the control and movement of goods to and from subcontract suppliers.
- Carry out stock replenishment, stock rotation and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Participate in full stock takes as required.
- Report stock shortages, damaged materials or equipment issues promptly to management.
- Maintain accurate records using the company's computer systems.
- Drive the company van when required for collections and deliveries.
- Assist with the assembly of products or components when required to support production.
- Work closely with production and purchasing teams to understand priorities and ensure material availability.
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve warehouse processes and efficiency, implementing changes only when authorised.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment in accordance with housekeeping standards.
- Follow all company Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures and policies.
- Wear and maintain the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Attend training and development activities as required.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling duties.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Bendi (Flexi) Forklift Truck licence.
- Previous warehouse or engineering stores experience.
- Experience using stock control or ERP systems.
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Packing and dispatch experience.
- Knowledge of goods-in, goods-out and inventory control processes.
