Sodexo is inviting expressions of interest for a Mobile Catering Assistant to support our school catering teams across Swindon.
This is a register your interest opportunity. While the role is not available immediately, registering your interest means you'll be one of the first candidates we contact should the position become available.
As a Mobile Catering Assistant, you'll work across a number of schools, providing cover where needed and helping to deliver nutritious meals and excellent customer service. No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety and working as part of different teams.
Please note: This is a mobile position, so a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential. You will travel between school sites across the Swindon area, and all business mileage and travel expenses incurred between sites will be fully reimbursed.
About the Role
You'll play an important role in supporting our school kitchens across the Swindon area, helping to prepare and serve fresh, nutritious meals for pupils, staff and visitors.
Working in a school environment offers an excellent work-life balance, with daytime shifts, Monday to Friday, and school holidays off.
As this is a mobile role, you'll provide cover across multiple school sites, supporting different teams where required while maintaining the high standards expected across all our schools.
What You’ll Do

Prepare and serve fresh, nutritious meals.

Support the day-to-day running of school kitchens across multiple sites.

Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.

Deliver excellent customer service to pupils, staff and visitors.

Work collaboratively with a variety of school catering teams.

Travel between schools as required to provide catering support
What We’re Looking For

A positive, friendly and professional attitude.

A passion for food and excellent customer service.

Previous catering or hospitality experience is desirable.

Flexibility to work across different school locations within the Swindon area.

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Food Hygiene qualifications are advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Additional Information
Term Time Only – Equated Pay
Equated pay (sometimes known as spread-over pay) is a method of paying you for your contracted hours, working weeks and holiday pay spread over 12 months instead of only receiving pay during the months that you work.
This means you'll receive equal monthly payments throughout the year, including during school closure periods and non-working weeks.
Further information will be provided during the interview process.
