Motor Trade Assistant
Location: Dudley
Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 4:00pm (including a 1-hour unpaid lunch break)
Salary: £17,000 per year
About the role
We're looking for a reliable, hardworking and customer-focused Motor Trade Assistant to join our growing used car dealership.
This is a varied, hands-on role. You'll be involved in all aspects of the business, from greeting customers and preparing vehicles for sale to collecting cars, updating vehicle adverts and supporting the day-to-day running of the dealership.

Key responsibilities
- Welcoming customers and providing a professional first point of contact
- Assisting customers with general enquiries and providing vehicle information
- Supporting vehicle viewings, test drives and customer handovers
- Building positive relationships with customers throughout the buying process
- Moving vehicles safely around the site
- Collecting and delivering vehicles when required
- Taking vehicles to MOTs, servicing, repairs and inspections
- Carrying out basic vehicle condition checks
- Preparing vehicles for sale and customer collection
- Ensuring vehicles are clean, presentable and ready for display
- Assisting with vehicle valeting where required
- Assisting with vehicle photography and online advertising
- Completing paperwork and maintaining accurate vehicle records
- Supporting the sales team with day-to-day dealership operations
- Keeping the dealership and forecourt clean, tidy and well presented
- Carrying out general duties to support the smooth running of the business
Skills and experience
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Confident driving both manual and automatic vehicles
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Good attention to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing a varied workload
- Previous motor trade experience is desirable but not essential
Important information
- This role requires regular driving of customers' vehicles. Maximum of 6 points.
- This is an active, hands-on role involving work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Applicants should be physically capable of moving around the forecourt, cleaning vehicles and carrying out general dealership duties.
