Overview
We are looking for an experienced, dedicated and compassionate Registered Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our residential children’s home. The successful candidate will provide strong, professional leadership while maintaining a nurturing, child-centred environment where children and young people feel safe, valued and supported. You will have overall responsibility for ensuring consistently high standards of care, maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations and legislation, and developing a skilled, motivated and committed team dedicated to achieving positive outcomes for the children in our care.
Job description
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Registered Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of a residential children’s care home. This vital role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe and nurturing care to children and young people with diverse needs.
As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance with relevant regulatory standards, leading and supporting a compassionate and dedicated team, and creating an environment where children and young people can thrive emotionally, socially and developmentally.
Your leadership will inspire excellence in care delivery, promote positive outcomes for children, and foster a safe, supportive and positive environment for both staff and residents.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
● Build positive and professional relationships with children, families and external professionals, including social workers and healthcare professionals.
● Lead, support and mentor the staff team, promoting a positive, supportive and professional working environment.
● Ensure the home operates in full compliance with relevant legislation, safeguarding requirements, health and safety regulations and company policies.
● Develop, implement and regularly review individualised care plans that reflect each child’s needs and outcomes.
● Manage the day-to-day operations of the home, maintaining consistently high standards of care and quality.
● Complete Regulation 45 reviews and ensure identified actions and recommendations are followed through effectively.
● Inspire and motivate the team to provide high-quality, child-centred care using DDP and PACE approaches.
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date records relating to children’s care, staff rotas and the operation of the home.
● Oversee the safe administration and recording of medication in line with relevant regulations and best practice.
● Work closely with external agencies and healthcare professionals to coordinate effective and consistent care for each child.
Skills & Experience
● A genuine passion for improving the lives, wellbeing and outcomes of children and young people.
● Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and maintain high standards of care.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work effectively with children, families, staff and external professionals.
● A minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a residential children’s care setting within the last 5 years.
● At least 1 year of experience in a senior leadership or management role, including responsibility for supervising and supporting staff.
● Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or currently working towards the qualification.
● A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding requirements and relevant legislation.
● Ability to develop, implement and review detailed, individualised care plans while effectively managing competing priorities.
Pay: From £45,000.00 per year
