This is a great opportunity to join the UK personal lines business of a major global insurer on a high-performing pricing team where your analysis and insights will directly influence decision-making, rate-setting, and commercial performance of a significant Home insurance portfolio.
As a Principal Pricing Analyst, you’ll operate at the heart of pricing blending deep technical expertise with real commercial impact. You’ll work with rich datasets, advanced modelling techniques, and senior stakeholders to continuously refine pricing strategy in a competitive, fast-moving market. You will support the profitability and growth of Home lines through analysis to deliver recommendations for pricing change, and subsequent monitoring and impact analysis.
The opportunity
In this role, you’ll take ownership of key pricing initiatives within a broker-focused home insurance portfolio. From data exploration through to model validation and performance monitoring, you’ll play a critical role in driving profitable growth.
You’ll collaborate closely with underwriting, product, and distribution teams, ensuring pricing decisions are aligned with wider business objectives while remaining analytically robust.
The role
- Analysing large datasets to develop insight-led pricing recommendations
- Supporting the design, review, and implementation of risk models
- Taking pricing changes from data exploration through to deployment
- Monitoring portfolio performance and identifying optimisation opportunities
- Reviewing underwriting and pricing metrics, escalating key findings where needed
- Assessing and refining underwriting footprint and portfolio strategy
- Communicating complex outputs clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Managing and prioritising analytical projects to support product and pricing development
Requirements
- Strong experience in personal lines pricing (ideally home insurance)
- Proven ability to work with large datasets using tools such as Python, SQL, SAS or similar
- Experience with pricing software (e.g. Radar)
- A solid understanding of pricing components and how to optimise them for performance
- Knowledge of statistical modelling and machine learning techniques
- The ability to translate technical analysis into clear commercial insight
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
