You and Your Role
Becoming Father Christmas is a truly magical role. As the heart of the Borde Hill Christmas Grotto, you will create unforgettable memories for every child and family who visits, ensuring each experience is filled with warmth, wonder and festive joy.
To preserve the magic, you will always remain in character when visible to visitors. Father Christmas is only ever seen as the real Father Christmas, never in any other capacity. This role requires excellent character work, boundless enthusiasm, plenty of energy and a genuine passion for bringing the magic of Christmas to life.
Working alongside Mrs Claus and our team of friendly elves, you will welcome families into the Grotto, chat with children about their Christmas wishes and present each child with a special gift to take home. Your ability to engage naturally with children and maintain the festive story throughout every interaction is key to creating a memorable and authentic experience.
We're looking for reliable, committed individuals who love Christmas, enjoy performing in character and take pride in creating magical moments for others. If you have a warm personality, a sense of fun and a genuine desire to make children's Christmas dreams come true, we'd love to hear from you.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- A natural ability to engage with children and families, creating a warm, magical and memorable Grotto experience.
- Confidence in performing in character, with excellent storytelling and improvisation skills.
- Boundless enthusiasm, energy and a genuine passion for Christmas.
- Outstanding customer service skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
- The ability to follow direction and work to a schedule.
- Excellent personal presentation and pride in maintaining the highest standards of costume, appearance and character throughout every shift.
- Be available on at least 4 of these dates; 5th, 6th,12th,13th,19th,20th,21st, 22nd and 23rd December between 9.00am and 4.30pm.
