We are looking for a motivated and culturally aware Marketing & Community Engagement Officer to help grow ChakraHolidays.com and promote our travel and event services to Indian communities across the UK.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will support the company’s marketing, community outreach and brand communication activities. This role is ideal for someone with marketing experience, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of Indian culture, regional traditions and the needs of Indian families living in the UK.
The role requires someone who can confidently communicate with Hindi and Gujarati-speaking customers, understand cultural expectations around Indian travel and events, and help the company build trust within UK-based Indian communities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and support marketing campaigns for Chakra Holidays & Events Limited across digital, social media and community channels.
Create culturally relevant content for Indian audiences, including social media posts, website content, WhatsApp campaigns, email marketing and promotional materials.
Communicate with customers and community contacts in English, Hindi and Gujarati where required.
* Support outreach to Indian community groups, temples, cultural organisations, associations, event organisers and local businesses.
* Research the UK Indian travel market, including customer preferences, seasonal demand, religious/cultural travel interests, family travel needs and competitor activity.
* Help promote holiday packages, cultural tours, spiritual travel experiences, group travel and event-related travel services.
* Manage or support social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, WhatsApp Business and Google Business Profile.
* Assist with lead generation, customer enquiries, follow-ups and maintaining customer relationship records.
* Prepare marketing reports, campaign performance updates and suggestions for improvement.
* Support the planning and promotion of community events, exhibitions, open days, travel presentations and cultural networking activities.
* Build relationships with suppliers, community leaders, influencers and strategic partners where relevant.
* Ensure all marketing communication reflects the company’s values, cultural sensitivity and professional standards.
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience in marketing, public relations, social media, community engagement, sales support or customer outreach.
* Native-level or highly fluent Hindi and Gujarati communication skills.
* Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
* Good understanding of Indian culture, festivals, family structures, regional traditions, religious travel preferences and community expectations.
* First-hand cultural knowledge of Indian communities, gained through lived, professional, educational or community experience.
Understanding of the UK Indian community and the UK customer market.
* Ability to create engaging content for social media, WhatsApp, email campaigns and digital platforms.
* Confidence in speaking with customers, community groups, suppliers and business partners.
* Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple marketing activities at the same time.
* Basic knowledge of tools such as Canva, Meta Business Suite, Google Business Profile, email marketing platforms, CRM systems or similar tools.
Desirable Skills
* Experience in the travel, tourism, events, hospitality, wellness or cultural sector.
* Ability to understand or communicate in other Indian regional languages.
* Experience working with Indian community organisations, temples, associations, cultural groups or event organisers in the UK.
* Knowledge of SEO, Google Ads, Meta Ads, content planning or basic website updates.
* Understanding of Indian pilgrimage travel, family group travel, cultural tours, wedding/event travel or wellness retreats.
