This is an exciting opportunity to join our Infrastructure team; this team has responsibility for the infrastructure and networks within Hugh James.
Our Infrastructure team works alongside our AI, Security, Development and Service Desk departments. The Firm is going through an exciting period of technical growth, with significant and cutting-edge technical projects. Including the migration to a cloud-based infrastructure.
The role
The Infrastructure Engineer will work alongside other members of the team to ensure that our infrastructure is optimised and fit for purpose.
In addition, you will be expected to take a proactive part in all team activities, whilst maintaining and developing your own technical knowledge in the latest developments within the world of IT Infrastructure.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment is critical for this role as is time management and the ability to work as part of a high-performance team, whilst also being comfortable to work independently.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to further their interest and knowledge of IT Infrastructure.
As an Infrastructure Engineer you will.

Design, implement, and manage our IT infrastructure, ensuring it meets current and future business needs.
- Maintain and support Microsoft Server environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Utilise our backup solutions to perform restore activity when needed.
- Implement solutions & remediations as directed by the Security Team.
- Utilise monitoring solutions to proactively manage and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
- Collaborate with the Operations and Security team to develop and enforce IT policies and procedures.
- Support cloud infrastructure, particularly within Azure, ensuring seamless integration and operation.
- Conduct regular system audits and generate reports to inform strategic decision-making.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other IT team members and end-users.
- Creation and maintenance of system documentation.
Skills & Qualifications

Degree in an IT related discipline, or relative professional experience.
- A good understanding of networking principles and technologies
- A good understanding of security controls and language (MFA, encryption, CVSS, conditional access, posture checking, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
Knowledge and experience in the following areas is essential.

- Entra ID – User and Enterprise Application administration
