Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Warehouse & Stores Operative with a valid Counterbalance Forklift License to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing warehouse operations, handling materials, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods through accurate loading, unloading, and storage. Your mechanical aptitude and familiarity with warehouse management systems will be essential in maintaining operational excellence. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a counterbalance forklift to load, unload, and move goods within the warehouse
- Manage inventory using warehouse management systems, ensuring accurate stock levels and location tracking
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, verifying shipments against documentation and inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies
- Assist with weekly and monthly stock takes and keeping stock records up to date
- Handle materials with care, including heavy lifting and precise placement to optimize storage space
- Support warehouse organization by maintaining clean, tidy, and well-stocked storage areas
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily targets while adhering to health and safety standards
Skills
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift License with proven experience operating forklift equipment
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and inventory control procedures
- Experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving processes, and heavy lifting techniques
- Good basic math skills for inventory counting and documentation accuracy
- Ability to perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
- Excellent teamwork skills with clear communication abilities
