The Company
We are one of the leading independent building material suppliers in the East Midlands. We have been established for over 36 years and operate out of a 2.5-acre site in Ilkeston. We sell heavy side building materials, landscaping and timber materials to the trade and public.
Driver Role
The role will be delivering building materials to our trade and retail customers to domestic properties with some site deliveries when needed, as well as interacting with our sales & yard staff.
Responsibilities include:
· Delivering to customers, both Trade & Public
· Collecting material off customers jobs
· Collecting material from suppliers
· Mandatory daily vehicle & lorry loader checks
· Keeping lorry clean, inside & out.
· Small items of maintenance, bulb replacing, lubricating items etc.
· Assisting with loading of your lorry when in the yard.
· Other duties – assisting in the yard when not driving, as we only work for one
company
The Individual
We are a family run business with a strong emphasis on teamwork. You will be required to deliver to our customers, interacting with them so you will need to have the following qualities;

It isn’t essential to have product knowledge of the heavy side materials.
Key skills
We are a small team committed to customer service excellence as well as the development of our people. You must be willing and able to contribute to this supportive environment, communicate effectively, and work cooperatively with your colleagues whilst maintaining a flexible approach.
It is essential to have a class 2 HGV licence, up to date driver CPC and lorry loader licence. (preferably ALLMI). In addition to this, you will be required to use a lorry loader with a brick grab attachment plus accessories. It is essential you have previous experience of multi drop deliveries. This role is for our 26T SWB vehicle. It would be of benefit to have local knowledge but not essential
Package / Remuneration
Basic salary: £38,500 per annum.
Additional: Stakeholder pension scheme.
The hours are Monday to Friday 7.00am to 5pm.
The package includes 20 days holiday per year plus additional Bank Holidays and Christmas Shutdown
