This is an exciting opportunity to join Algar Fresh Food Shack as an Experienced Cook for our growing business. We are looking for a confident and passionate individual to join our team and play a key role in developing our fresh food offering.

At Algar Fresh Food Shack, we pride ourselves on using fresh, locally sourced produce from farm shops to create a high-quality breakfast and lunch menu. Our offering includes a varied selection of freshly prepared dishes, snacks, and shakes.
The Role
We are looking for a creative and experienced cook who is passionate about food and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking fresh dishes daily, maintaining high food hygiene standards, and taking pride in delivering consistently excellent food.
You must be confident working independently as the sole cook on site while also being a supportive part of the wider team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of fresh breakfast and lunch dishes
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards
- Work efficiently under pressure
- Make full use of fresh, local ingredients
- Contribute ideas to menu development
Working Hours
- Tuesday to Saturday
- Service hours: 9:00am – 3:00pm
- Start time: 8:00am for preparation
- Approx. 7 hours per day
- Total: 35–37.5 hours per week
(There may be potential to expand to Sunday opening in the future.)
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a catering or kitchen environment
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
- NVQ Level 2 in Catering (or equivalent), or working towards it
- Ability to work independently and manage a kitchen
