About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and reliable Sous Chef to support our Head Chef in delivering high-quality food and maintaining excellent kitchen standards. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced chef looking for flexible part-time hours while working in a fast-paced and professional kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations.
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations are followed at all times.
- Support stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
- Help develop menus and contribute new ideas for dishes and specials.
- Train and support junior kitchen staff where required.
- Monitor food quality and portion control.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
- Step into the Head Chef's role when required.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a profession kitchen is preferred, but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management.
- Understanding of food hygiene and HACCP procedures.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and busy service periods when required.
- Relevant food safety qualifications are desirable.
