About the role:
The University of Lancashire wishes to recruit a Workshop Stores Technician to join our Engineering & Workshops team. This team provide support to all University engineering and workshop facilities and related programmes of study. The successful candidate will be primarily focussed on maintaining central engineering and design workshop stores, including all material and equipment ordering processes for the workshops team. The candidate may on occasion assist with the support of related undergraduate classes, research and IGA activities. This post will play an integral role in the expansion of support for not only engineering and design subject areas, but the wider university.
Besides stock maintenance and ordering, the role holder will also be required to undertake general equipment maintenance and safety checks, equipment inventory checks and updates, as well as providing advice as required.
About you:
You will have excellent communication skills supported by experience in a customer facing technical support role. The ability to work both independently and within a team are essential, along with an understand of health and safety procedures.
For this role you are required to have a Level 3 qualification, such as A Levels or BTEC, in a relevant discipline, or appropriate equivalent experiential learning,
