Hill Bros Brighton Ltd is a successful Roofing and Building firm in Brighton & Hove est. 1980.
We're looking for a skilled roofer based in/around Brighton & Hove to join our company and work within the area. Must own and drive your own van/vehicle with a valid driving license and have tools- potential for a company use van after trial period if required.
You'll be working as part of a team, or usually with a labourer/improver depending on the job or if you currently work with a good labourer, we can potentially look at bringing them onboard as well.
Typical working hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 16:00pm with potential for overtime and weekend work if desired.
To be considered for the role, you must have the following:
- Several years of experience in the roofing industry and have knowledge of British Standards of roofing and complete all work to a high standard.
- Own van/vehicle & tools.
- Be able to drive to various locations in the Brighton & Hove area depending on where you will be required.
- Have good communication skills with use of mobile phone for contact when required.
- Be able to work effectively in a team and follow instructions when required.
Skills required:
- Skilled in roof repairs and renewals - we often deal with very old buildings so you must have a decent knowledge on what to expect and how to tackle unexpected issues.
- Experience in working on slate, concrete interlocking, plain and fibre-cement tiles.
- Skilled in standard leadwork such as installing cover and step flashings, aprons, saddles, back-gutters etc. More skilled leadwork including lead welding is a bonus.
- Experience in flat roofing or willing to learn.
- Basic rendering skills required - as a minimum must be able to repair firewalls, carry out render repairs to chimneys, abutment walls etc. Guidance/training can be provided on this if required.
- Must be polite and courteous to customers and neighbours. Our reputation is only as good as our workforce representing us.
- Must be skilled in installing guttering, downpipes, fascia and soffit or willing to learn or develop these skills.
We offer a range of services as part of our business so any skills or experience outside the above listed will be utilised. We are looking for any skilled people with experience, if the above requirements do not reflect your current experience, please do not hesitate to reach out and we can discuss if there is a good fit for you. We can also help develop areas that may be lacking from the listed requirements if needed, so please ensure you are completely honest on your skill level on any of these and we can ensure to pair you up with someone who is more skilled in that area to train you to a high standard.
