Ofsted Registered Manager – Solo Placement Children’s Home Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Service: Solo Placement Residential Children’s Home Young Person: 1 young person, aged 8–18 Company Car: Provided Free On-Site Parking About the Role We are looking for a dedicated, experienced and passionate Ofsted Registered Manager to lead and oversee a high-quality solo-placement residential children’s home. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager or Deputy Manager who is ready to take the next step in their career and be named on the Ofsted registration application as the Registered Manager. The home will provide a safe, nurturing and highly individualised environment for one young person aged 8–18, with care tailored specifically to their needs, development, wellbeing and future aspirations. You will play a key role in establishing and developing the service, ensuring the home operates to an exceptional standard and consistently meets Ofsted regulations, safeguarding requirements and relevant legislation. Key Responsibilities As Registered Manager, you will: Lead the day-to-day operation of the children's home. Ensure the young person receives safe, consistent and high-quality care. Develop and maintain a positive, child-centred culture within the home. Lead, motivate and develop the staff team. Ensure robust safeguarding procedures are implemented and followed. Oversee care plans, risk assessments and individualised support plans. Monitor and manage behaviour, incidents and safeguarding concerns appropriately. Ensure the home remains compliant with Ofsted regulations and relevant legislation. Work closely with social workers, placing authorities, education, health professionals and other agencies. Maintain accurate records and ensure all required documentation is completed to a high standard. Support the recruitment, induction, training and supervision of staff. Promote the young person's education, health, independence and emotional wellbeing. Prepare the service for Ofsted inspections and maintain continuous regulatory compliance. Drive continuous improvement across the home. About You We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people and who can demonstrate strong leadership within residential childcare. You will ideally have: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or be currently working towards it. At least 2 years' experience in a residential childcare setting. At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or management role. Previous experience working within a children's residential home – essential. Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection. Experience with care planning, risk assessments and incident management. Knowledge and understanding of Ofsted regulations and compliance. Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a staff team. Excellent communication and organisational skills. A strong understanding of trauma-informed and child-centred approaches. The ability to work effectively with professionals, families and placing authorities. Previous experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager would be highly advantageous. Why Join Us?
