Overview
DGS Service Solutions is seeking a professional, motivated, and highly organised Security Controller to join our security team at Fairhill Shopping Centre in Ballymena. This is a key role based within the Shopping Centre’s Control Room, where you will oversee the daily security operation, monitor CCTV systems, and provide support to the on-site security officers.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate CCTV and security systems.
- Coordinate and deploy security officers across the shopping centre.
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations.
- Maintain accurate incident logs and reports.
- Liaise with emergency services, retailers, contractors, and centre management.
- Monitor fire alarm systems and assist with emergency procedures.
- Ensure all control room procedures are followed in line with company policies and industry standards.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Opening and closing the building while on duty.
Essential Requirements
- Valid SIA Security/DS Licence (CCTV Licence desirable or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience within a security control room.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong IT skills and the ability to use CCTV and security management systems.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make informed decisions.
- Flexible to work a rotating shift pattern, including nights and weekends, current shift pattern is 4 shifts one week and 3 shifts the next.
Desirable
- Experience within a shopping centre, retail, or corporate security environment.
- First Aid qualification.
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures and incident management
Pay: £13.59 per hour
